Success stories in China

According to the Swiss Embassy in Beijing, over 600 Swiss companies are domiciled in China, operating with 1,000 branches and employing more than 200’000 people.

Also some Solothurn companies have left footprints in China. For example the medical technology company Stryker from Selzach who has built a production plant in Suzhou. The watch making company Titoni is another example and is most likely one of those Swiss companies with the longest continuous presence in China. Mondaine produces certain watch components in its newly built plant in China. Railway Electronics Company Arthur Flury (Deitingen), EAO (Olten), JURA (Niederbuchsiten), the baby food manufacturer Bimbosan (Welschenrohr), or Swiss Suteria Chocolata operate successfully in China too.

At the beginning of the year 2016, the med tech company Ypsomed announced that it has further intensified its more than ten-year old partnership with Dongbao Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. "With this strong and well-established partner in the Chinese market, we see excellent opportunities for growth in the pen needle area. Based on our efficient production, we will be able to manage the planned growth with the existing manufacturing capacities in Switzerland", comments Simon Michel, CEO of the Ypsomed Group, with regard to the signed distribution agreement.
